Many men have mastered our taper haircut DIY steps and give themselves that nice taper fade look. If they can do it, there is no reason you cannot. With the right equipment, you will be able to master the haircutting skill in no time. So let’s get right into it!
To get started, gather the equipment you need such as sharp scissors, comb, two mirrors and clippers. First, wash your hair and dry it. If you have curly or wavy hair, straightening it out with a hairdryer and a comb would help.
Start with the top, cut it using the clippers’ longest guard or scissors and decide the line of your fade will begin. Now take off the clippers’ guard and remove the hair right about the ears as well as the in the back of your head including the nape of your neck – do this using upward motion. Then attach the shortest guard to your clipper and run it above the decided fade line all the way around.
Once finished, replace the guard with the ¼ length and repeat the aforementioned procedure below the first level. Repeat this two more times using the ¾ and ½ length for the third and fourth level. Last, reattach the shortest guard and blend the hair. See, giving yourself a taper haircut isn’t that difficult right?
